A quick list of pre-checks for DPF Removal maps, the more information you can give on the remap upload box to qfiles, all the better.

1. Is the job for your client or a third party?

YES/NO (data collection)

2. Has the Diesel Particulate Filter has been removed from the exhaust system:

YES/NO/HOLE DRILLED THROUGH/ UNKNOWN

3. Check on www.qfiles.co.uk if engine and ecu type is supported for DPF Removal

4. Visual record of the current state of Engine ECU via dashboard display:

Dashboard DPF/FAP symbol on: YES/NO/FLASHING/UNKNOWN/OTHER

Dashboard Glow Plug symbol on: YES/NO/FLASHING/UNKNOWN/OTHER

Dashboard Service symbol on: YES/NO/FLASHING/UNKNOWN/OTHER

Dashboard EML/CEL displayed: YES/NO/FLASHING/UNKNOWN/OTHER

Centre Console Warning Messages: YES/NO/UNKNOWN/OTHER

5. Diagnostic tool stored and pending MIL error messages

6. Diagnostic tool Live data : Are these sensors moving with engine load or they showing fixed possibly faulty values

Pre DPF temperature Sensor: APPEARS WORKING / APPEARS BROKEN / UNKNOWN

Post DPF temperature Sensor: APPEARS WORKING / APPEARS BROKEN / UNKNOWN

Pre DPF Pressure Sensor: APPEARS WORKING / APPEARS BROKEN / UNKNOWN

Post DPF Pressure Sensor: APPEARS WORKING / APPEARS BROKEN / UNKNOWN

7. Diagnostic tool stored DPF fullness value : -50 to +200 % scroll box / TOOL UNABLE TO ACCESS DPF DATA/ UNKNOWN

8. Has forced regeneration, either static or dynamic been conducted:

YES/NO/TOOL UNABLE TO ACCESS DPF DATA/TOOL UNABLE TO COMPLETE PROCESS/ UNKNOWN

9. Have you resets to MIL codes/DPF ash counter/ DPF oil level been conducted:

YES/NO/TOOL UNABLE TO ACCESS DPF DATA/TOOL UNABLE TO COMPLETE PROCESS/ UNKNOWN

10. Check the operation of Injectors and EGR system as they are directly linked to DPF failure by ether over loading the DPF or in the case of the EGR not achieving correct operating temperature - DPF delete will not fix a failed injector or EGR system. Failure to carry out good diagnostic practice will result in additional credit charges.

YES/NO/TOOL UNABLE TO ACCESS DATA/ UNKNOWN

11. ECU READ ready to upload to www.qfiles.co.uk

12. Obtain DPF delete file.

13. Remove DPF element in accordance with good practice - DO NOT cut out DPF element in proximity to sensors, remove sensors to ensure metal particles do not enter.

14. Check codes are clear and status unchanged - DO NOT RUN VEHICLE

15. Flash ECU.
